Our young client's arms tended to drop down the sides of the wheelchair and there was concern of possible injury in the wheels.
The solution was to introduce removable supports to keep the arms supported in the correct position when needed.  These were constructed in wood as a prototype, and then plastic as the final solution.

The wooden prototype.
The complex chair folding mechanism, highlighting the need for the supports to be easily removed.
The plastic solution made from the sort of cladding used to tidy up the fascia boards on houses.
